Here is a video I made linking my main task (music video) with my two ancillary texts (website and digipak)

Question 3: What have you learned from audience feedback?
I created the video below to show the results of my feedback on my main task (music video) and the ancillary texts (digipak and website) I gathered feedback in a variety of ways through asking my peers verbally, social media and asking for anonymous written feedback.
Through out my production I was constantly asking for feedback from both my peers and teachers so that through out the entire process I was able to produce the best possible ancillary tasks. Through the process I changed my website completely as it didn't fit in with the same conventions I had used for my digipak. I also changed my digipak inside cover to an andy warhol styled image in order to convey appeal to my target audience who like art and are cultured thus conveying with my genre a little bit more. I have created a spider diagram below in order to show what I learnt from my audience feedback. evaluation from sian horrigan on Vimeo.

Updating accessibility: Mobile access
On Wix, the website I am using to create my pop music website for Emily Heinz there is an option that allows you to change the website in order for use on smart phones.
I have decided that I wish my website to be accessible on mobile phones, as this technology is regularly used by my target audience and I feel that this will be more engaging and encourge my target audience to use the website.

Website Changes
I changed the background colour on some of the pages for example made the video page blue while the outline was pink unlike how it was on my homepage. I still used the same colours just in different ways in order to show that each page is different while keeping continuity.

Creating My Website
This was the first draft of my website. However I felt that the colour scheme didn't show continuity with my digipak which i liked therefore I needed to seek change. I also thought that the back ground was too busy and the image I used show no relevance to my other pieces. The text I used also didn't match the text of my digipak again showed no consistant continuity.

Website Research: Ellie Goulding
When researching Ellie Gouldings website it was clear at first glance that her website was designed around her digipak. I thought this was an extremely good idea as it showed continuity between the two products through using the same house style. Therefore this is something I will make sure I address when making my website.

Website Research: Kate Bush
For my research I looked at the artist who's music video I was recreating, Kate Bush. At first glance I was really pleased as she had used a vinyl back drop something I used within my digipak making me feel confident that I had been following the correct conventions of the genre. However, apart from this I found her website very confusing as there were no images of her as an artist and you couldn't really tell whether she was a musician.
From this I have learnt:
Include images of artist
Make sure audience is aware of what type of website it is through either promoting my album cover/video or through page names e.g tour dates

Website Research: Ed Sheeran
I noticed that Ed Sheeran had social media links at the bottom of his website. This is something that I will use when making my own as I believe that social media is extremely important in today's society.

Website Research: Carley Rae Jepsen
Carley Rae Jepsen:
This website has a clear layout and format that can be incoroporated into my website with a clear way for our target audience to be able to access it and use the website. This website also uses varied images and poses of the main artist througout. These shots are mainly close ups and focus on the artist. However, there are some images used on the website, from the music videos or those used on digipak covers. I feel I can take some of these ideas.

Digipak Changes: CD
Within my CD I added a sticker in the middle of the vinyl. I did this so my digipak showed some continuity. All Cds in my research had the artist name and album name on them therefore I used this. I used the image I used for my back cover on my CD again to show continuity through my digipak.

Digipak: Back Page Changes
Here is the only change I made to my back page:
I put a drop shadow on the text as shown in order to make it stand out more.

Digipak Changes: Inside Page
This was my original inside page of my digipak
I thought this idea was very basic and didn't show any creativity or media skills therefore limiting my ability. Therefore I changed it to an andy warhol inspired piece as shown. I did this by filling the images on photoshop in the colours of my colour scheme.
Digipak Changes: Front Cover
Like my back page there was very little I wanted to change on my front cover.
However, I still felt that it wasn't eye catching enough for a digipak front cover therefore I changed the font. I found the fonts on photoshop were very basic so I dowlnoaded a font from DAFONT.COM and used it for my artists name. The typography is very eye catching and works well with my chosen genre.

Digipak Authenticity
I have used this logo on my digipak to give it an authentic look so it looks like a real cd.
I do not own this image.

Digipak: front and back image choice
I have chosen to use these two images to for my front and back page of my digipak after my photoshoot. The reason for this is because the pose is the same but taken from the back and the front of my artist.

Digipak Research
This is Ellie Gouldings digipak for her album Halcyon days. It has a strong colour scheme where all the colours compliment each other. The digipak also uses an image on the front while keeping the back very simple which I like.

Digipak Research
When researching digipaks one thing I noticed was that many artists used triangles on their album covers. I really liked this concept and will try to incorporate it somewhere on my digipak.
Here are some examples:

Music Video: Taking shots out
cuts from sian horrigan on Vimeo.
Here is a video of one of the shots I decided to take out of my music video. Within my peer feedback it was mentioned repeatedly that the shot wasn't liked due to my artist looking unenthusiastic and sleepy.

The editing process of my music video
With the editing process I used iMovie to create my music video. With all of my scenes I changed the colour of the shots using this software to create a negative feel to the issues within my video through clicking on video effect and selecting black and white.
